Peru, a nation full of diversity and culture, stands proudly as one of the most extraordinary destinations in the world. Its unique gastronomy, traditions, and vast natural reserves leave an indelible impact on visitors. The incredible people, coupled with the extreme geography, make Peru truly breathtaking. Scientists have cataloged 103 ecological zones on earth, and an impressive 83 can be found in Peru alone. As a country situated in the western part of South America, sharing its borders with Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and Chile, Peru’s territory which spans over 1.2 million square kilometers is geographically divided into three different regions; the coast, the Andes Mountains, and the Amazonian lowlands. Let this remarkable and inspiring country capture your heart and fill your soul with wonder.

Peru is a vibrant nation with over 32.97 million inhabitants who have diverse backgrounds and speak different languages. While Spanish is the official language, about 47% of the population are indigenous Indians who celebrate their heritage and speak Quechua in the highlands. In the Lake Titicaca region, some speak Aymara. Peru’s Amazonian lowlands are home to incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes, yet only about 6% of the population lives there. Nevertheless, people of mixed indigenous and Spanish heritage (called mestizo) account for approximately 38% of the population, and 15% are white, whereas the remaining 4% hail from other backgrounds and ethnicities. Peru’s rich cultural tapestry is an inspiration to us all.
